Okay, so Leo has officially entered his ‘climb everything’ phase. Send help, seriously! My couch, the bookshelves (even the low ones!), the kitchen chairs… nothing is safe. I turn my back for two seconds and he’s halfway up something. I’m constantly hovering, trying to balance letting him explore with, you know, not letting him break his neck. Any tips from seasoned parents on how to navigate this without turning into a helicopter parent? Or just commiserate with me, haha.

Oh Clara, I totally feel you on this! My little one is exactly the same right now – everything is a mountain waiting to be conquered, usually with me holding my breath nearby. I’ve been reading a lot about gross motor development and how important it is for them to test their limits and build confidence. It’s such a push-pull, isn’t it? Like, my brain knows they *need* to climb, but my heart is just screaming ‘NO!’ every time they scale the sofa cushions. We’ve been trying to redirect some of that energy to a small climbing triangle we got, which helps a bit, but honestly, the kitchen chairs still hold a certain allure. It’s really hard to find that sweet spot between scaffolding their independence and keeping them safe without feeling like a constant ‘no’ machine. I’m right there with you trying to figure it out!
