Welcome to our circle. This is a space built on trust, empathy, and the shared journey of becoming.
To keep this space safe, supportive, and truly special for everyone, we invite every member to join us in upholding this simple promise.
1. Bring Your Truth, with Kindness
- We encourage you to share your real stories, including your struggles and uncertainties. Your vulnerability is a gift to this community.
- Always assume good intent in others. We are all parents navigating a complex journey. Respond to others with the same kindness and respect you would hope to receive.
- What we don’t allow: Personal attacks, insults, bullying, hate speech, or any form of harassment.
2. Share Wisdom, Not Dogma
- We are here to learn from each other’s diverse experiences. When sharing your advice, please frame it as a personal experience or a gentle suggestion, not an absolute rule.
- Use phrases like “In my experience…” or “Something that helped us was…” This honors the fact that every child and family is unique.
- What we don’t allow: Presenting personal opinions as universal facts, shaming others for different parenting choices (e.g., feeding methods, sleep training), or promoting unverified or harmful pseudo-science.
3. This is a Haven, Not a Marketplace
- This community is for connection and support, not for commercial promotion.
- You are welcome to share a link to your personal blog or a helpful resource if it is directly relevant to a conversation, but please do not engage in self-promotion, affiliate marketing, or solicitation.
- What we don’t allow: Spam, advertising posts, promotional links in profiles, or any form of commercial activity without prior permission from the koaiv team.
4. Protect Privacy, Yours and Others’
- Think before you share. Be mindful of the personal information and photos you post about yourself and your children.
- What is shared in our private groups, stays in our private groups. Do not take screenshots or share content from this community on other platforms without explicit permission from the author.
- Respect everyone’s journey. Do not share personal details about another member without their consent.
5. Seek Professional Help for Professional Problems
- Our community provides invaluable peer support, but it is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or mental health advice.
- If you are facing an urgent or serious issue concerning your child’s health or your own well-being, please contact a qualified professional immediately.
- What this means: While we can share our experiences with a feverish child, we cannot give medical advice. While we can empathize with postpartum depression, we are not a replacement for a therapist.
Our Commitment to a Safe Circle
To ensure koaiv remains a welcoming and constructive space for everyone, our team of moderators (we call them Bonfire Keepers!) will gently guide conversations and uphold our community promise.
Our approach is always educational first. For most first-time, unintentional violations, we will offer a kind reminder or edit a post to bring it in line with our guidelines.
However, for repeated or serious violations, such as spam, harassment, or spreading harmful misinformation, we will take necessary actions to protect our community. This may include private warnings, and in rare cases, removing content or suspending an account’s posting privileges.
This is a responsibility we take very seriously, because the safety and trust of this circle is our highest priority.
A Final Word from The Founder
This community is our shared space. Its warmth and safety depend on all of us. Our moderation team is here to guide and protect the space, but the true spirit of koaiv lives in the kindness and wisdom that each of you brings to the circle.
Thank you for being here, and for helping us build a truly special home on the web.
“Trust The Becoming”
The koaiv Team
